NeoGuides / Idle Archive: Autumn '08 / Despair, Inc.

For a wonderfully gloomy, cynical refresher, you can't go past a few minutes spent browsing Despair, Inc. A commercial site that sells t-shirts and "Demotivator" posters – witty, dead-on spoofs of the ubiquitous glossy-photo-with-trite-words motivation posters, it is also a great place to waste some time.

The posters include "Adversity", showing a tree bent by the wind, with the text "That which does not kill me postpones the inevitable" and "Ambition" (pictured), with a bear poised to swallow a salmon leaping upstream and the words, "The journey of a thousand miles sometimes ends very, very badly".

If these give you a black chuckle, browse the equally sardonic t-shirts, including MORE PEOPLE HAVE READ THIS T-SHIRT than my blog" and "i > u".
