It's a rare and pleasurable thing to discover a "real" restaurant in a sleepy seaside town.

Start strolling at the quiet end of the Penguin township. Take in the pretty little family beach with plenty of sand and sky and sparkling ocean. And by the time you've walked all the way to the busy end, you'll be ready for the delicious dishes at Wild.

The food here has a light touch and some sophisticated flavours; ModOz with an Asian leaning. There are lighter cafe style meals at lunch, and more substantial, adventurous flavours at dinner. Nowhere else on this coast will you find a fine laksa or clear spicy mushroom broth with a good dose of coriander.

There's a decent wine list, good coffee and a crowd of customers who look delighted to have found such good food.
