It's best to come just before sundown and look out as the silky harbour water fades to black and the last of the boats chug-chug home.
Strahan's vast Macquarie Harbour is waterfront like no other and through the windows of this grown-up version of a local shack, you'll be able to take it all in. Be prepared, it will fill your heart with a mysterious yearning and your head with retirement plans.
There aren't many fishing villages like this left in the world, and not many restaurants in them, either. The menu is designed to please just about everyone - it's fine food and well-cooked. The service is smooth, professional, friendly and refreshingly honest, which makes dining here a pleasure.
Strahan and its wilderness is a must-visit part of Tasmania - and Risby Cove is a wonderful starting point.
