There's a relaxed, homely feeling here, in spite of the fact that Daniel Alps and his team are running a large restaurant usually full of demanding diners.

Are the diners here for the view or the food? Both. The Tamar Valley is beautiful even when covered in mist, and the drive up the hill through the vineyard (owned by the Kreglinger Group, along Pipers Brook) is a quintessential wine tour trip.

At table, the menu will have you wanting to taste each dish. It's ModOz, but with a lovely reverence for the vegetables on the plate, not just the hero local protein on top.

And because you're in a vineyard, you'll be able to find the perfect estate wines to match the dishes.
