A contemporary apartment at "the Paris end of Charles Street" gives you a great base to explore Launceston and the local wine country without any inconvenience.
There are three apartments to choose from, neatly fitted into an old two-storey corner shop. Cleverly done by owner and furniture designer Alan Livermore, they have all the details you'd hope for, from the requisite king-size bed down to the baby Gaggia and milk frothing jug.
The location is delightful, upstairs from the eclectic Livermore's boutique for art, jewellery, homewares and wine, a block away from the little French patisserie, two doors down from a bookshop and across the road from the best burger shop in the region.
It's as buzzy as Launceston gets, which is not very. It's a bit like life in a little French village, with lots of opportunities to watch the world in miniature go by before heading out to find adventure further afield.
