Each year there's a big craft fair in Deloraine that stops the town, an indication of level of interest in artisanship around here. But you don't have to wait for an annual event to see quality work: Nancy Kowalski, who runs this gallery, has a keen eye for design and a network of talented local creators. There's space for each of the pieces to breathe, and a higher standard than many other so-called galleries on the island.

Claire Badcock's cartoon alien dolls are loveable and her finely stitched images from nature sit well next to Doreen Campbell's delicate handwoven silk scarves. The walls showcase a changing range of visual artists including local painter Tony Smibert, whose soft focus landscapes have a dreamy Asian quality to them.
