It's such a local landmark that real estate ads use it as a selling feature in their property descriptions: "Close to river, bus and Lipscombe Larder".

This gourmet supermarket is plain on the outside (what more can you do with a former service station than give it a paint job and some smart black awnings?) and richly coloured inside.

The shelves are densely stacked and the aisles narrow. It's a library of essentials - enough of everything a foodie might need, but not so many options you get bogged down.

Full rounds of brie are lined up next to one-person wedges of local and imported speciality cheeses and there is a wall of freshly baked bread behind the cashiers. Plenty of delicious temptations here.
