Tricycle Café
71 Salamanca Place, Hobart, 7004

Tucked into Salamanca Place's heritage rabbit warren, this funny little cafe is at the entrance to the Peacock Theatre.
The theatre itself is a gem: part cave, part auditorium with a chunky sandstone cliff as the back wall of the stage, run for private use by the Arts Centre. The cafe has appropriated the theatre's foyer (such as it is), giving you a choice of light and airy seating or a more cosy, womb-like feeling inside.
The formula is simple and successful - great (fair trade) coffee, great breakfast dishes (scrambled eggs get the local thumbs-up) and simple but tasty lunch options.
It's perfect for avoiding the crush outside, and a great place to catch up on the local gossip.
